Wildlife Trust local conservation scientists worldwide to protect nature and safeguard ecosystem and human health. Wildlife Trust pioneered the field of Conservation Medicine, a new discipline that addresses the link between ecological disruption of wildlife, livestock, and human health and survival. Our work includes research into the discovery and causes of disease emergence such as SARS, AIDS, Lyme disease, West Nile virus, Avian Influenza and the deadly Nipah virus. Wildlife Trust is committed to unifying biodiversity conservation, ecology and health by its leadership and strategic role with its partners, the Consortium for Conservation Medicine and the global Wildlife Trust Alliance. These partnerships allow Wildlife Trust to gain insight into specific issues from disease outbreaks to the protection of wildlife sanctuaries.

The Gulf Restoration Network (GRN) is a New Orleans-based network of groups and individuals dedicated to protecting and restoring the valuable natural resources of the Gulf of Mexico. Throughout the GRN’s thirteen-year history, they have worked on many issues that have now been thrust into the spotlight by Hurricane Katrina and the devastating 2005 hurricane season such as coastal wetlands protection and restoration, clean and healthy water, and the prioritization and effectiveness of Army Corps of Engineers projects, such as the New Orleans levees. The GRN provides our forty plus member organizations and others with the technical support and strategic collaboration necessary to address the environmental threats that face the Gulf.
