Does Alternative ship internationally?

Yes, Alternative has partnered with FedEx Cross Border to service international customers.

What is FedEx Cross Border?

FedEx Cross Border is a FedEx service that is used by Alternative to sell products directly to international customers. FedEx is responsible for all payment processing including the collection of duties or other applicable taxes, shipping, customs clearance, and delivery. All orders are processed and shipped directly from Alternatives Norcross, GA distribution center to a specified FedEx facility where the order is then re-directed to the customer.

How do I place an international order?

Our site will automatically convert to your countries currency based on your IP address (location). If it cannot recognize your IP (location) you can adjust the conversion by selecting the flag in the top right of the page and then choose your country from the drop-down. The website and check-out process will reflect the chosen currency throughout the process.

When you are ready to complete your order, proceed to the checkout where you will enter your billing and shipping address and select the continue button. Once selected you will be re-directed to the FedEx Payment page where you can select your shipping option and view your order total which includes all applicable duties or fees specific to your country. With few exceptions this will reflect your delivered price. Alternative does not determine shipping rates or taxes. These amounts are determined by FedEx and your regional government authority. Upon completion of your payment you will be re-directed back to Alternative to continue shopping.

What countries does Alternative ship to?

Alternative is able ship to most countries with just a few exceptions. To see if we ship to your country select the flag at the top of the page for a list of available shipping destinations.

How much does international shipping cost?

International shipping is calculated by FedEx Cross Border during the checkout process. The cost is based on the shipping method selected, shipment weight, and the duties or other fees required by the destination country. Alternative does not determine shipping rates, duties or other local fees. These amounts are determined by FedEx and your regional government authority. Our free shipping offer only applies to domestic shipments within the continental U.S.

How are duties and taxes calculated for international orders?

Most countries calculate VAT (Value Added Tax), duties, or other fees based on product type, retail price, insurance, and freight. These fees are determined by your regional government authority. Neither Alternative nor FedEx controls the rates. FedEx Cross Border works directly with the customs agencies of each country to maintain current rates and submits the payment of all duties and other fees that may be applicable on your behalf. The breakdown and options will be presented to you during the checkout process. Your final check-out price is inclusive of all charges. No additional fees will be collected upon delivery in most countries. Exceptions will be noted on the FedEx Payments page.

Can I return or exchange my international order?


We accept international returns if your request is within 30 days of receipt of delivery and if they are shipped at your expense unless it is our error. Alternative does not reimburse any duties or local taxes.

To begin the return process, e-mail or call us at 770.209.2902 and a Customer Service representative will help you process your return. IMPORTANT: Unauthorized return shipments will not be reimbursed.

Our Free returns offer does not apply to international orders. If you receive a domestic return label in your package, please disregard it.


We do not accept international exchanges. If you need to exchange an item you will need to request a return, ship the item back at your expense, and purchase the replacement item as a new order on NOTE: Applicable VAT tax or other duties and fees as well as shipping will be charged on the replacement item.

If we make an error and send you an incorrect or damaged item, we will cover all costs to ship the replacement. In this case please contact us within 7-business days of receipt of your order via e-mail at ior by phone at 770.209.2902 and a Customer Service representative will gladly assist you with a resolution.

NOTE: A replacement cannot be shipped if we are not contacted within the 7-business day window. Alternative is not liable for lost returned packages. Please retain a copy of your return tracking numbers to insure receipt of your delivery.

Are Gift Cards valid on international orders?

Unfortunately, we cannot sell or redeem gift cards on international orders due to restrictions with VAT, duty, or other tax valuations that are assessed on exported order. We can only accept payment methods offered by FedEx Cross Border.
